    As Senior Account Executive, your job duties will include:

    • Acting as the primary contact with clients, continually fostering strong relationships.
    • Providing strategic counsel and developing the right messaging to help organizations tell their stories to national and regional audiences.
    • Finalizing and distributing communications materials to internal and external audiences (e.g. news releases, pitches, fact sheets, talking points, presentations, etc.).
    • Mentoring and managing the daily work of support staff.
    • Working with top-tier media outlets in the education and policy beats, including managing media relationships on our clients’ behalf.
    • Engaging in the firm’s new business development process.
    • Staying updated on the latest cutting edge trends in public relations as well as being an active participant in the education reform movement.
    • Serving as ambassador of Larson Communications when networking with clients and professional peers.

     

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    • 5 – 8 years of experience in the public relations or public policy arenas. Direct experience working with journalists is preferred
    • Direct experience or demonstrated interest working in the education reform space is a plus
    • Social media management experience for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
    • Search engine and social media advertising experience is a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Policy or a related field
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to demonstrate successful execution of media and broader communications campaigns
    • A team player with a collaborative spirit and demonstrated experience in leading team projects
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines with an eye for detail
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, social and digital media tools as well as Meltwater

     

    Benefits include:

    • Competitive compensation. The salary for this position starts at  $56,500  and goes up to $96,800. The applicable salary range for each role is based on the level of knowledge, skills, and experience that the employee brings to the role and is aligned to the labor market in which the employee works. Starting pay for the successful candidate will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role may be modified in the future.

    About the Role

    Now in its 15th year and with a growing portfolio of clients, LC has created the Director of Operations role to centralize organizational health-related operations, organizational efficiency, system and process design and implementation, business strategy and growth, and business development.  Reporting directly to the President/CEO and with matrix responsibilities to senior staff, this position will act as the central hub for optimizing our client service and team performance, designing and leading process improvement cycles. The Director of Operations will play a key role in driving the communications and organizational talents of our strong and growing team, with the ultimate goal of ensuring exceptional client value.

    As Director of Operations, your job duties will include: 

    Leadership, Team Performance, and Growth

    • Embody LC culture and commitment to excellent client service, all in the service of helping our clients make a positive impact on our nation’s schools, students and families
    • Manage key functions, including finance, operations, strategic planning, client contracting and pricing, human resources and benefits
    • Collaborate with LC President/CEO to inform organizational and operational strategy, designing and overseeing systems to optimize team performance and achieve growth targets
    • Lead change management connected to implementing process and systems improvements
    • Help ensure team satisfaction and support a positive working environment
    • Coordinate teaming logistics to meet project needs and support team member wellbeing
    • Manage professional development opportunities and performance review process
    • Oversee talent mining, update and lead interview process, and oversee new hire orientation and onboarding
    • Spearhead the planning and execution of team retreats and staff meetings
    • Research and implement solutions and platforms for better project management, team satisfaction and team collaboration

    Client Services and Project Support

    • Review client and team staffing allocation to ensure optimized team utilization to provide excellent client service
    • Refine and oversee LC’s client contracting, contract renewals and pricing strategy
    • Conduct client satisfaction surveys and analysis
    • Spearhead client recognition opportunities

    Marketing and Branding

    • Oversee branding, website management and team collateral
    • Coordinate dissemination of newsletters and organizational updates as well as company promotion including case studies, webinars and social and digital presence
    • Manage and coordinate LC’s participation at external education and communications conferences, including logistics and presentation opportunities

    General Operations

    • Oversee LC Operating Plan and daily operations
    • Monitor utilization and help balance team workload
    • Produce quarterly metrics reports, generate actionable insights and propose process and systems improvements to ensure exceptional client value

    Strong candidates will have, at a minimum, 7-10 years working in a professional services environment, managing teams and developing and implementing complex projects. Background in K-12 and higher education, public relations, law firm or other project-based consulting industries is a plus.

    The ideal candidate must thrive independently under their own initiative, and be energized by a breadth of technical, analytical and interpersonal responsibilities, while also able to influence and coordinate diverse staff in remote regions.

    Candidates may have managed one or more offices, as well as client service, team performance and project operations in a prior role, and may have previously served in a consulting role. Candidates can both see and articulate the big strategic picture of the firm and also translate that into operational execution.

    Required background:

    • A. or B.S. degree with minimum of seven to 10 years of relevant work experience
    • Track record of setting and implementing strategy to achieve business and organizational goals, including achieving growth targets
    • Understanding of professional service firm environment, including team utilization and billables
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with time tracking, document tracking and other consulting office software suites
    • Excellent analysis and organizational skills
    • Proven project management skills, with the ability to support and lead a diverse staff and client roster
